Chris Racz Tennis Academy
My service is different then others in the area because I bring unique experience and knowledge from my past of playing all levels of tennis from local juniors through to the professional level. I have had the pleasure of working with top coaches and learning by playing against and practicing with some of the best players in the world. Along with this, I continue to learn about coaching through continued coaching education and of course following the game as it evolves. I bring lots of passion to all my players, including my recreational players and my juniors who are aspiring pros.
I enjoy being involved in the game I love and grew up playing and working so hard at. I like passing my knowledge to other passionate players who I now coach and being able to have a positive influence in their games and lives. I do my best to help players improve in their own particular ways, whether it is technically, physically, mentally, or strategically. Every player is different and their needs are constantly changing as they evolve into better players, this is where I make sure we are focusing on the right area of improvement to keep getting to the next level.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students I typically try to have a few lessons to observe their game and see what needs to be worked on and improved, also just to get to know the player to make sure our personalities match. I like to have a good look at new students so I can figure out ways for them to improve. For beginners, we would start with basics, but for intermediates and advanced players, we would have to work together how to help depending on their specific goals, whether it is to make the school team, get some tournament match wins, get a higher ranking, or win big tournaments.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I myself played professionally and held pro rankings from 2008-2015. I also played division 1 college tennis at the University of Tennessee and was a top 50 junior internationally. Currently, I still compete locally and am #1 in the Men’s Open Singles division in the Middle States.
I also hold various teaching certifications:
- USPTA Professional Coach
- PTR Professional Coach
- USTA High Performance Coach
I coach all levels of players, but also coach 3 current #1 Middle States juniors and 1 former #1 Middle States junior and various nationally ranked players. I enjoy working with all levels and keep current with the game by always keeping up with continuing education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My price varies depending on loacation and arrangement, when we get in contact we can discuss options further.
How did you get started teaching?
I have played since I was young and played through juniors all the way through the professional level and I wanted to stay in the game to pass along all the knowledge I picked up along the years and what I continue to gain.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all ages and all levels. I enjoy the diverse levels of players I work with. I teach beginners all the way through top high performance players with professional aspirations, I am equipped for all levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would encourage players looking to improve to look at coaches’ background and experience, not many will match mine as I have unique experience in the field from all over the world and from all levels having played and now coached them all myself.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have an idea of what they are looking for in a coach and what goals they may have for improvement or aspirations.
