Raquel G. says, "“Dawn’s class changed my life. During the Chakra Money Secrets class I manifested $20,000 in 6 weeks. Just by following Dawn’s directions to take time to understand my chakras, find out which are unbalanced and start from the bottom up. I learned to take small steps to create the life I want to live and be INTENTIONAL as well as specific with what I want - while giving myself space and grace to do so.”" Read more

Mara A. says, "My husband, my son, and I all train under Master Homschek. He is a wonderful teacher and always very professional. He is passionate about his art and about sharing his knowledge. He never stops learning and progressing in Tang Soo Do, and he is delighted to pass his learning on to his students. He excels in teaching all ranks together, never leaving behind those who are still learning the basics, and never ignoring the needs of those more advanced. I can't recommend him highly enough - I wish I could rate him at six out of five stars. " Read more

Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

Our boys have been students at River Valley Tang Soo Do Academy for about 4 years now. The amount they have learned can't really be measured. Yes they have earned several belt ranks. But what they have also learned are life lessons, lessons in character, self respect, self control, friendship, teamwork and many other fantastic character traits. This is all thanks to Master H and his fabulous staff. Their success can also be attributed to the stream of students earning their black belts and also learning how to become great teachers themselves thanks to the black belts that have come before them and taught them. I look forward to the day when I see my boys at the front of the class leading and teaching others. I cannot imagine a better school that I would entrust their martial arts (and life) education too.
