Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Just contact us to schedule your personal event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My mom and I are the teachers, while we are not trained chefs we have experience to teach these classes. This experience stems from having family businesses for years and taught family traditions. We are also Certified Instructors through Healthy Hands Cooking.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All pricing vary per event/class.
Birthday party for 10 is $250 and Butterbean Cafe party is $300, which includes favors.
Troop badges are $20 per girl.
Average group class starts at $20+.
All our classes have a .50 mile travel fee and includes handouts, tools needed, our time pre, during and post class plus all the food.
How did you get started teaching?
I was looking for a way to earn extra income, while teaching healthier habits to my 2 kids. I found that the more they help me in the kitchen the more they will try and like new things.
I want to teach people how easy and cheap it is to make homemade food without all the added preservatives we don't need.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have had preschool though elderly students. We have had special needs also. As well as International Student Exchange.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love all of our classes. We have done Cooking for 2 (freezer ready meals) for the elderly. Public school classes, homeschool classes, troop badges, YMCA, bachlorette party and so many more.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Let them know your allergies and sensitivites.
