Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I always introduce myself again, and then each lesson begins with a gentle warm up appropriate for both the student and the lesson. The sessions progress in the specific course for which they are designed, and/or requested by the student and to accomodate a level which provides the most opportunity for growth.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?
While in college earning my degree in dance I began teaching. I found it to be a natural progression. Being an extension of my education, and helpful to my studies in choreography.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types! I have worked with students of all levels, ages and abilities. From novice to advanced, and teaching several different genres including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Basic Ballroom and Preschool Gymnastics. I have also worked for many years with students who have special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I might advise someone to find a teacher whose background experience you find relevant and qualifing, and to discuss the goals of the lessons before deciding on an instructor.
