About

Westpoint Martial Arts Academy offers a mixed Martial Arts style called PasaRyu (Karate, Taekwondo & Kung-Fu). Classes will consist of emphasis on Korean terminology, proper technique (i.e. stances, kicks & blocks), accuracy & detail. Students will learn basic techniques, forms, self defense, & individual requirements are taught with a emphasis on speed, balance, & targeting.

I, Tennille "Cheetah" Westpoint became a Lifetime Member at the PasaRyu Headquarters on April 4,1999 under Grand Master Kang “Ox” Rhee who taught the King of Rock 'N' Roll singer, Elvis Presley and knew legendary Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris.

As an official UTA TEAM USA member, Grand Champion, Regional, National, Arkansas State Champion, & 4th degree black belt Martial Arts Instructor, it’s my role to train and develop the minds of the youth and young adults. I understand the importance of seeking a healthier way of living, keeping track of the students’ progress, teaching private lessons to those who need additional assistance with their technique, & developing a partnership with the parents or guardians to ensure growth, confidence, & stability.

Making a difference in someone's life and having a passion for what I do!

My son has been taking martial art classes here for a couple years. He loves it. He has also attended the after school program and has attended summer camp for the last two summers. As a parent I’m glad that my child enjoys himself. He also gets along with the other children and everyone is supportive. It’s definitely worth checking out to see if it’s a good fit.

Best experience my daughter has had in building not only the importance of self control and dedication, but teamwork and confidence. Ms. Westpoint and her team are by far amazing in seeing their students through. Truly dedicated in their art and profession. Well worth the experience for anyone. My blessings are with this family as they grow in the Memphis community. Unfotunately, we had to move to California but we’ll see you soon.

    Frequently asked questions

Primarily, I want to know what the students interest and goals are so that we can achieve them. Each lesson should demonstrate progress and be productive.

I became a Lifetime Member at the PasaRyu Headquarters on April 4,1999 under Grand Master Kang Rhee who taught the King of Rock 'N' Roll singer, Elvis Presley, and knew legendary Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. As an Martial Arts Instructor and Business Owner, having a Masters of Science degree in Oral Communications in Business Administration is very beneficial.

Pricing will vary on the class length and availability.

As a brown belt instructor, I helped assist with classes. Once I received my 1st degree black belt, I taught classes at the PasaRyu Headquarters, and in 2014 became the Head Instructor at my own business location.

I have worked with young adults, teenagers, and school aged children starting at age 5. Also, students with ADHD.

I emphasis on promptness, in regards to being to class on time. One of my younger students, who is 5 years old, took out his Karate uniform and placed it on his bed to get ready for class. Before his Mom could come in his room to get him ready for class, he was standing in the kitchen by the front door with his uniform and belt on saying, "Mom, I'm ready!" They lived within 10 minutes of our location. It was 30 minutes before his class started. His Mom came downstairs and said, "It's still early." He said, "Ms. Westpoint says that it's better to be early then late." She smiled, and said, "Let's go!"

Verify their expertise, and be sure that it's a good fit!

What goals do you want to achieve from the lessons being taught?
