I am an avid acoustic guitarist and have been for about 10 years! I am currently a singer/songwriter residing in Nashville, TN. I absolutely love expressing myself through playing guitar and can't wait to help others!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with understanding the student. Once I know where the student is in terms of experience and knowledge and where they would like to end up, I know where to start and how to best help the individual who is learning! In general, understanding the instrument itself is an under-appreciated but important part of playing. After teaching about the layout of the guitar itself and the reason for its design qualities, I can begin to teach about tuning, beginner's music theory, and the role of both hands as parts of the instrument.
