Aquatykes Swim School
About
I teach survival swimming (swim-float-swim) to children 6 months and older. I have been teaching this method for over 13 years and my kids become very skilled swimmers in a few weeks versus years. They can also then continue and maintain their skills in a fun group class once they've master the survival skills.
I am also a principle lead instructor that can certify other instructors to teach this same method.
I love working with kids and giving them skills that can save their lives and also give their families more peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I initially make sure the parents understand how my program works. Are they referrals from other families. If not, then I spend extra time explaining and also suggest that they speak with existing families that are at the pool. I also recommend that they watch a variety of lessons so that they understand how a new student may look verus a skilled student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I initially became certified with Infant Aquatics in 2004. I have been teaching lessons for over 13 years - year round. I have also training other instructors to teach the same method. I am now a co-founder of Survival Swim Development Network.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
At this time, my lessons are $80 per week for four short private lessons (Monday through Thursday) and there is also a $40 registration fee. Once the survival skills are mastered, children can join a group fun class once per week. The group classes are $20 per class, paid monthly for the number of classes in the month
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I realized that I need to work instead of being a stay at home mom with my 2nd child. I always thought I would enjoy being a stay at home mom, but I needed to work and found that working part time at home (pool intially in the backyard) was a great fit. It soon envolved into a year round business and I love it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all kinds of children and love them all. This program works very well with special needs children as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love turning a fearful child into a happy, skilled swimmer. I run into these situations frequently. It's a process getting the children and even the parents to trust me and the process but if they commit to it - they will not reqret it. I have never had a parent reqret the lessons when their children have completed the program.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Understand the skills the children will learn and how long it will take the children to learn those skills. View lessons, speak with the parents. Know who will be teaching the children/
