I’m Amber DuPuy. I am the owned of the DuPuy Acting Studio. I'm a teacher and a coach.
As your teacher, I'll help educate you on the philosophies, skills and practices of acting. I’ll train, guide and prepare you to become a master of your craft.
As your coach, I'll identify your strengths and weaknesses, and help you overcome the obstacles holding you back. I’ll facilitate your process of connecting to your inner artist, your wisdom, your authenticity, courage and passion.
I teach teens and adults. Currently, all classes and private lessons are online. To learn more, please visit my website: www.dupuyactingstudio.com

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first private lesson is a primarily an opportunity to "get to know" one another and a time to learn about the acting technique I teach. In subsequent lessons, students will start learning how to analzye the script, finding the character's core emotional truth and playing the active verbs required of the scene. Students will be working on monologues and scenes from plays, films or TV shows. Students can work with me privately or join one of my online acting classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied acting for 6 years in NYC at The Actor's Theatre Workshop, Inc. In Austin, I studied Meisner Technique, led by Ron Hayden, for several years. I have studied the voice and am a certified Pilates instructor. I have attended numerous workshops outside of Texas, including Larry Moss's acting workshop in LA and the Michael Chekhov teacher training in Florida. Currently, I am studying with Matthew Harrison of the Actor's Foundry in Vancouver, BC.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50 for an hour private lesson. At some point, I encourage students to join a weekly acting class to learn to work with other students.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching about 14 years ago at the State Theatre School of Acting, in association with Austin Community College's Continuing Education.
