The Art Of Movement

The Art Of Movement

About this pro

With 11 years of formal training in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, 5 years of experience coaching gymnastics, and 2 years of experience teaching group fitness classes, I am extremely passionate about fostering in everyone a love for movement and helping people accomplish their movement goals. I believe that movement is an art form and thus teach with an emphasis on emotional expression and proper technique. My services are open to all age levels. I offer both technique and choreography classes in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. I offer private gymnastics and tumbling lessons (I can provide the curriculum or work on whatever skills you want to work on). I also offer private and group fitness classes in several formats including barre, Pilates mat, cardio kickboxing, cardio dance party, HIIT, Zumba, and STRONG Nation (or tailor the class to whatever your needs are!).

I believe that movement should be an integral part of our daily lives. Training the body (whether in dance, gymnastics, or fitness), simultaneously trains the mind: cultivating discipline, mental strength, confidence, and peace. I see it as my purpose to bring the beauty of movement to any and all who are interested. Work and play are one in the same for me and I love that I get to share with others the joy of living and the joy of maximizing the potential of this amazing gift we call a body!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to thoroughly discuss the students' goals for the lessons before getting started so I can be sure to tailor the cirrciculum to their needs! I also like to know a little bit about the student's movement background. Furthermore, the first class will serve as an assessment to narrow down the focus of the following lessons.

I am transparent with my pricing and love to discuss discounts for bundling!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

All of my private classes (dance technique, gymnastics, tumbling, and fitness) are $65 per hour or $35 for 30 minutes. Prices for group classes will depend on the size of the group. Group lessons of 2-5 individuals cost $85 total. Group lessons of 6 or more individuals cost $15 per person. For large corporate events and parties I charge a flat rate of $300. I also offer discounts if you bundle lessons in advance.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are your goals? I think this is the most important question to consider. What do you hope to gain from the lessons? And if you don't know, that's totally ok! Ask your teacher or potential teacher what you can hope to gain from their classes.
