Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will first get to know the student then I would start with basic technique to see where my student is at and after that I will base my training off of what the students needs are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been dancing since I was 8 years old so I am very technical. In high school I was an officer for my drill team and I have taught a few solos as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard $25 an hour fee for lessons but if you are out of town I would charge just a little bit more for example if you're in Austin one hour would cost $30 or if you're in San Antonio an hour would cost $35. Solos would be $80, duets $100, trios $150, & anything larger just depends on the group size.
How did you get started teaching?
I used to help out the girls on my team and I also lead the team. I've also choreographed for others and myself multiple times.
What types of students have you worked with?
i have worked with mainly high school students but I am open to middle school
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I would be fond of would have to be the BFA concert at Texas state! The show was full of amazing choreography and talented dancers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Accepting what's wrong and work to fix what's wrong is a major key in order to improve as a dancer!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
determine your weaknesses and what needs to be done in order for you to become stronger
