Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my studnets who had been struggling in dance during one of our cominations I put on the song OCEANS by Hillsong in the middle of her dancing she broke down and cried I asked her what was wrong and she told me how she had no friends her mom and dad hated her etc. I brought mom in after class to talk to her.. 6 months later she is a different kid with her realtionship with her parents and now she feels loved by so many people. Every day she tells me thank you for helping me speak through dance.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
That they love children, that they are not just taught in one studio and stay at one studio, that they have many different backgrounds. That they can communicate to your child the way your child needs to be communicated to. Have a conversation with the owner.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What they really are wanting in their lives. Is this just for fun, am I wanting to be on dance teams, do i want to go to college for dance, do I want to dance professionally,
