Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My aim with every student is to create an environment where the student is comfortable and feels safe to work on their voice as well as cater to their musical desires. With every new student, I take time to learn about who they are as a person. Learning their joys, hobbies, life interests and musical interests creates a great atmosphere where everyone is safe. From there we adventure into what the student wants out of lessons: what genres of music they want to learn about/perform, what skills they are strong at, what skills they want to better, etc. Again, the lesson is for the student, and I will accomodate my skills to what they desire. From there we start small with vocal excersises that give me a good idea of the strengths and weakness of the singing technique. Once I have a basis of the student's skills, we can jump right into making some music and strengthening their craft!
