About
Helping the student understand a little music theory along the way, and then applying it to their favorite songs.
Watching the progress week to week, when they get to the place where they understand what they're doing, and playing better. Playing melodies over some of their own rhythms... that's FUN!!
It's a journey, but it pays off in the end!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Set some goals together, setting a realistic paractice schedule is important, and introduce basic concepts of changing chords that sound good together to get them playing a song as soon as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Studied under private instruction early in my playing and learned by playing and performing songs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
generally $30 per half/hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
while performing, others would ask if I could show them how to play. I eventually wrote a short practical guitar theory book, instead of handing out separate pages to my students for practice.
What types of students have you worked with?
From 10 yr old beginners, young performing artists, adult professional, to retired folks who always wanted to learn how to play. 35 years of teaching, I have had just about every type of student one could imagine, which has helped me hone my presentation, and know that some people learn a little differently than others. I am able to tweek my approach to match the learing styles of any student.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been performing a long time, but love to get with other players and enjoy some great songs together. Currently published on YouTube with The Vic Duncan Band
