Sara Gaston Acting Studio

I began Sara Gaston Studio for two reasons. First, because I saw that there was a need in this market for classes that went beyond simply cold-reading, audition-style, every week. Or the most basic scene work. Outside of a conservatory environment, I didn’t see how actors could get the in-depth training and tools they needed to become first-rate actors capable of tackling any role, in any genre. This is why the training I provide draws from so many sources. In addition to the training I received at university and beyond, I draw from several acting perspectives including Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, Michael Shurleff and Harold Guskin, to name a few. The second reason is that when I came out of drama school, I had outstanding training as an actor but I lacked the business knowledge to get launched. I had no idea how to get an agent, how to translate what I’d learned into commercial or film work, and how to market myself as an actor. What I learned through painful experience, I want to use to help mentor actors to navigate more efficiently and to work smarter. Most of all, though, is that I love the craft of acting. That I get to share my passion with like-minded individuals and lead them as they grow, is truly a gift.
