Classical And Theatrical Voice & Acting Lessons
About
I've loved singing and performing as long as I can remember! It wasn't until high school that I understood that my passion for acting and singing was strong enough to pursue it professionally. I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre. Shortly after I moved to New York City to pursue acting as a career. While in New York I worked Regionally, Off Broadway and on TV as an actor/singer.
During my time at Oklahoma City University I was trained as a classical singer and studied Stanislavsky. When I moved to NYC, I continued my vocal training by focusing on the more contemporary, belt/mix sound that's become so popular in Musical Theatre in the last 15 to 20 years. I also studied the Meisner technique for several years in NYC.
I believe that a classical foundation is necessary for all successful, safe singing, while also understanding what the industry requires in 2020. When teaching my goal is to make a teachnically sound, well-rounded singers and confident, calm and detailed actors.
