I don’t normally write reviews but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I played competitie tennis at a high level growing up all the way through high school and then continued playing competiively in college and grad school with friends and colleagues. After continuing to play casually on and off I put the racquet down in my late 30’s due to chronic back issues and simply got busy with work and kids. Recently at the age of 49 after getting myself back in shape and yearning to play again, I decided to find myself a coach to help me get back into playing tennis at not only a high level but the right way. And frankly I am incredibly lucky to have found Amir. I have had lessons over the years but I have learned more in only 5+ lessons from Amir than I have my whole life playing tennis. He was able to quickly diagnose the potential in my game and more importantly issues with my technique and footwork. I couldn’t believe how spot on he was and how quickly he’s been able to teach me the right technique with my groundstrokes and footwork. I also know that once I get my fundamentals down he will then provide good insight into strategy when playing matches. He’s also particularly focused on teaching a modern style of tennis that wil position me better to stand out from the pack. Bottom line, I couldn’t recommend Amir more. He’s very experienced and tennis smart and takes a very different and, in my opinion, better approach to teaching tennis than what you see today. Most importantly, he’s passionate about it. This is his profession and he’s committed to being the best at it. I am looking forward to seeing just how far Amir can take my game as I seek to play competitively again both locally and hopefully nationally.

Amir has done an amazing and flawless job in teaching me new techniques and how to execute them. He is very personable, technical, flexible, and has a strong sense of how the game is played. From only a few hours of lessons, it is obvious he loves the game and wants his students to be able to play tennis effectively! My game has greatly improved and I feel I will have a much stronger edge when I play tennis thanks to Amir.

My doubles partner and I wanted to elevate our game and were very selective about the coach we chose. Amir has exceeded our expectations. He is very insightful on everything from stroke and stance selection to overall game strategy. Our game and understanding of strategy has increased dramatically. I highly recommend Amir as a coach.

Knowledgeable Able to assess ones game, break down the individuals game where it can be improved the most, and then provide guidance and drills that will help to improve those areas Work hard and apply Amir's coaching, training and guidance and you will improve

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I breakdown the different strokes one by one and really take my time to explain in detail how to hit each stroke properly in order to achieve my clients goal. Every lesson is customized to my clients needs and ability to play.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I currently play on the GLTA tour and won the world championships. I am one of the few, if not, the only self taught professional tennis player in the world. Teaching myself how to play correctly has mastered my teaching skills and now I am ready to share to my clients.

How did you get started teaching?

I starting playing tennis at the age of 3 and fell in love with the sport ever since.  My father who was number 1 in Iran, got me started.

Now I am the only self taught professional tennis player that ever reaches a 6.5 rating! For the sake of comparison, 7 is professional on TV.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with all ages and levels.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

RuiRui, one of Coach Amir’s students, is ranked #1 in the United States among all the 8 year olds nationally!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Cheaper coaches, you end up paying more in the long run. Go with a quality coach and don’t shy away from a higher hourly rate. Watch this video made for you.
