The Capital Area of Tennis Association give out Austin and the surrounding city area as a Non/profit society service, with its members composed of tennis devotee dedicated to promoting the sport throughout junior and adult schedule. CATA has come to serve as a head office for tennis education and as a clearing-house for information on the confined tennis programs. Also promoting the sport is the Central Texas Tennis Association, which sponsors classes for the young and old alike, and beginners as well as the more advanced players. Funding for the classes and events comes from its annual tennis tournament, Summer Jam, and from sponsorships from local businesses.

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department operates a very wide range of public courts and keeps in touch with players’ opinions through regular surveys. The Caswell as well as Burnett Pharr (SA) South Austin and Austin Tennis areas are all unlock seven days in a week and are function by contracted tennis expert. Each and every ability present public play, leagues, tournaments and lessons. Caswell opened in 1946 and is the oldest working tennis talent in Texas, making it one of the main hubs of activity. There are eight lighted courts, along with a practice wall, and private and group lessons are available.

South Austin-Tennis Center is the only public tennis talent south of the river: characterized by its pleasant environment and spacious court layout, the facility has 10 courts and a wall, and features recently installed lighting. Pharr and Austin High both have eight courts and a practice wall, as does the city’s newest public tennis skill in the (ATC). The Grey Rock Tennis Club is a public facility owned by the city and features eight lighted Plexi-Cushion courts to soften the effect of competitive tennis. Premier tennis programs, and private and group lessons are available under a professional staff.

Training for junior players is undertaken by the Austin Tennis Academy, which is run by coaches, players and parents and is certified as a regional tennis center by the United States Tennis Association. The Springs Family YMCA also offers specialized programs for young players of six years upwards. Those who enjoy indoor tennis can visit the Edgar O and Melanie A Weller Tennis Center, which has six indoor courts and four outdoor courts and which offers private and group tuition for all ages.

One of the leading private clubs is the Polo Tennis & Fitness Club, set in the countryside west of Austin and which offers tennis lessons to anyone from the age of four years upwards. Great Hills Country Club is located in the hills northwest of Austin and provides customized lessons for players of any age and skills level.

Closer to town, the Courtyard Tennis Club is located on a hilltop just before the Loop 360 bridge, and features 14 outdoor hard courts and two indoor courts. Lessons are available from a team of tennis pros, along with workouts that include high intensity drilling and stroke production and maintenance.
