Helping friends in high school with lesser talents than myself. Then professionally, inherited a beginning oboist from another teacher.

From public and private schools from 3rd grade to 70 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Christmas performances playing with Central Texas Master Singers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Seek the teacher out to watch them practice what they teach. The main reaction that I get from students is that I do exactly what I am trying to teach them.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is their long-term goal in taking lessons. While some teachers teach their students certain songs, I teach them to play their instrument, which allows them to proficiently perform any piece of music.
