About
The Gentleman Drummer's School of Percussion is centered around teaching Drummers and Percussionists to be musicians. Being a musician isn't just about skill and technique. It is about soft skills like critical listening, application of theory, situational awareness, sound engineering, performance and studio etiquette, presentation..... the list goes on. My lessons are designed to teach skills AND develop musicians. We don't stop with "how"; heck, we dont even start with "how". No, We start with "what", move into "why", develop the skills needed for "how" and learn "when" to apply each musical solution.
Teaching is a passion. The opportunity to take what I have learned and pass that on is an honor and privilege. the fact that it is centered around music is even more rewarding

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Phase 1 is evaluation of goals, skills and musical understanding
Phase 2 is technique, application and theory.
Phase 3 is musicianship and ensemble lessons (playing musically with others)
Phase 4 is auditioning, marketing, and basic business skills
Phase 5 is advanced lessons and theory tailored for individual goals
