Joe teaches Traditional opera techniques to strengthen my ability to sing pop music. This method increases my upper range a lot. He’s terrific

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

New students audition with me.  Through a series of questions we determine what the vocal problems are in target the remedy.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied and trained with many of the brilliant vocalists in our country including Michael Sells  at USC

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?

I have been a singer all my life and my teachers noticed that I am also patient. While assisting my Chorale Director I was asked to help singers in the choir with vocal problems. I discovered I was very good at this task.

What types of students have you worked with?

I Have worked with all types of singers. From beginners to advanced. I also deal with people who have vocal issues like not being able to project in public speaking, singers with large it for bravos and singers who have a limited range

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently had a student in Los Angeles win the PBS music competition. It was a televised event and I was extremely proud when my student came in first place.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would recommend to make sure the teacher actively performance and has a terrific Voice.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Learning how to sing is not easy. In my experience it’s going to take two years to learn the basics and master the discipline. I would recommend students to make sure they have the time and if parents are involved they have the complete support. Make sure you also have the passion.
