The experiences as well as the technical training separates my teaching from others. As a previous professional backing vocalist (Christina Aguilera, Usher, etc) that has toured with major artists, to a worship leader at various churches, and now to a recording artist, these different platforms along with BAST training for voice teachers has shaped my teaching style and approach to students. I love sharing with other singers the things I have learned on the road and in the classroom.
I have been singing for six years and started taking from MaShanda about a year ago. Before taking lessons with her, I was experiencing a hard time while I was singing and didn't really understand why. MaShanda has not only helped me tackle this problem, but has also helped me in becoming a healthier and more knowledgeable singer! There has been such a great difference in the way I used to sing and the way that I do now because of her and I am so so grateful! Definitely reccommend her services to anyone wanting to learn how to sing or anyone having a hard time figuring out the best way to go about it. She is fantastic! :D
I loved working with Mashanda! She has helped me improve on my vocal control and vocal stamina/consistency! I highly recommend you consider working with her! You won’t regret it!
Starting out, I like to find out what the student is looking for. Once we establish areas that concern the student, then suggestions will be made based on observations from the initial song performance.
BAST(Be A singing teacher) is an excellent program that equips current and future teachers to teach and understand how the voice works. It also teaches how to be a good teacher while understanding the students are in a process.
Students ages 6-13 $35-30mins
Adults $65- 1hour lesson
I truly just wanted to understand how the voice works. Since I sing professionally I was unable to articulate certain things I could do and as a teacher that can be quite frustrating. So I decided to further my knowledge and found the BAST program.
Ages 6 and up from all walks of life.
Try to know what you are seeking and be able to verbalize it the best you can to your teacher.
Its always good to know what the expectations are for the teacher. This observation is best stated at the initial session so that everyone would be on the same page.
