About this pro

Hi there!

I am Judith, a professional Pop/Rock/Jazz singer and pianist. In 2009 I've got my Master's degree in Popular Music Voice Education at the University of Music & Drama in Hanover, Germany, and for more than 10 years I've worked as a voice instructor and freelance singer/pianist in Germany, the UK, Egypt, Greece and now Houston, TX.

SINGING LESSONS:

My approach to singing is to combine the voice with your whole body in order to reach higher registers, gain more power and lose strain and fears! I would love to help you to enjoy singing even more - in an effortless and comfortable way!

I've prepared previous students for music college or university auditions, plenty successfully graduated!

Content of my lessons are:

- speech level singing
- belting
- ear training
- breathing techniques
- score reading
- improvisation/scat
- songs from the popular music genre (Jazz, Rock, Pop)
- body & posture as a support for your singing
- singing harmonies

I can't wait to meet you and to start singing with you!

GERMAN LESSONS:

I am a native German, born and raised in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany, where we talk the clearest and cleanest German ;)

I've graduated High School with A levels in German Literature and Poetry and did my masters in music education.

The German language is my passion, and I enjoy bringing my mother tongue and my culture closer to my students in a relaxed and natural way!

Hi Judith! Virena_Alexander We wanted to get back to you before we leave for our honeymoon tomorrow. Our churchly wedding was da bomb, in which you were in a large part responsible for with your wonderful voice. Some of our guests thought that your singing was a playback and would have bet their lives on it, some other blokes totally immune to weddings had to cry! There were also a lot of requests and we will of course forward your details gladly. We hope, that we will see you again at another time and place. Thank you so much, it was simply wonderful! Lots of love,

  • Katja & Flo

Dear Judith! The two of us just wish to express our most heartfelt thanks! Your musical support was vitally important in arranging our wedding. Your singing and interpretation of the songs deeply touched us (as could be clearly seen 😉 ) 1000 times! Lots of hugs and kisses!

  • Sarah & Nils

Dear Judith,Sarah_Nils with your singing our wedding became our very own dream wedding. We’ll be forever grateful, that we had you as a singer for the most important moment in our lives. You touched us and our wedding guests very deeply with your voice and the way that you interpreted the songs in your very personal way. Even now – everytime we think back about the wedding we have goosebumps for which you are in a large part responsible for. Thank you so much for your wonderful performance, the goosebumps and the tears of joy! We hope to see you again sometime! Lots of love

Dear Judith, I don’t have an actual request, I just wanted to tell you this: During the planning for my wedding I found your singing and range of services on YouTube and would like to tell you how much I like your singing! And “great” is putting it mildly!!! Everytime we envision our festive entry of the bride we use your videos on YouTube. I find your singing simply wonderful and perfect for such an emotional and personal matter like a wedding! Unfortunately our wedding will be in Cologne so that’s why we decided not to hire you. We have hired someone else, but I secretly keep you as a benchmark in my head, because I just can’t get your songs out of my head 🙂 I just HAD to write you because I’m listening to your music all day long. I thought it might be nice to get a positive feedback from time to time. Love, Nadine

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I evaluate the level of knowledge of the student to determine where we can start. I normally start with some exercises right away and map our a little near future goal plan for us, so the student has an idea what's possible and can be accomplished in the next weeks.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

German native

Masters Degree in Music Education, voice and piano

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

30 min 25$

45 min 35

60 min 40$

How did you get started teaching?

I've started during uni to finance myself. So parallel to my education studies I've taught lessons already. That's been more than 15 years ago.

What types of students have you worked with?

ALL types, really:

Ages between 7-70

Absolute beginners to professionals

I've prepared students to pass the audition for music conservatories

Classically trained singers and rock singers.

People with no German knowledge to advanced speakers.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I've moved to the US three years ago, and within this time I've gotten so busy with my private teaching that I have issues to fill my calendar. That makes me very proud and is a big reward for my sacrifice of leaving everything behind in Germany.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Go with your gut feeling!

A necessary foundation for a successful learning progress is to feel comfortable, understood and heard, but also supported and led into the right direction. That means that the chemistry between teacher and student is essential! Trust is crucial!

So, if you feel invited by a photo of a teacher, call him/her and get a feel for a first impression. Then decide if you want to meet or not. When in doubt, look further!
