About
Hi there!
I am Judith, a professional Pop/Rock/Jazz singer and pianist. In 2009 I've got my Master's degree in Popular Music Voice Education at the University of Music & Drama in Hanover, Germany, and for more than 10 years I've worked as a voice instructor and freelance singer/pianist in Germany, the UK, Egypt, Greece and now Houston, TX.
SINGING LESSONS:
My approach to singing is to combine the voice with your whole body in order to reach higher registers, gain more power and lose strain and fears! I would love to help you to enjoy singing even more - in an effortless and comfortable way!
I've prepared previous students for music college or university auditions, plenty successfully graduated!
Content of my lessons are:
- speech level singing
- belting
- ear training
- breathing techniques
- score reading
- improvisation/scat
- songs from the popular music genre (Jazz, Rock, Pop)
- body & posture as a support for your singing
- singing harmonies
I can't wait to meet you and to start singing with you!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate the level of knowledge of the student to determine where we can start. I normally start with some exercises right away and map our a little near future goal plan for us, so the student has an idea what's possible and can be accomplished in the next weeks.

German native
Masters Degree in Music Education, voice and piano

How did you get started teaching?
I've started during uni to finance myself. So parallel to my education studies I've taught lessons already. That's been more than 15 years ago.
What types of students have you worked with?
ALL types, really:
Ages between 7-70
Absolute beginners to professionals
I've prepared students to pass the audition for music conservatories
Classically trained singers and rock singers.
People with no German knowledge to advanced speakers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I've moved to the US three years ago, and within this time I've gotten so busy with my private teaching that I have issues to fill my calendar. That makes me very proud and is a big reward for my sacrifice of leaving everything behind in Germany.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with your gut feeling!
A necessary foundation for a successful learning progress is to feel comfortable, understood and heard, but also supported and led into the right direction. That means that the chemistry between teacher and student is essential! Trust is crucial!
So, if you feel invited by a photo of a teacher, call him/her and get a feel for a first impression. Then decide if you want to meet or not. When in doubt, look further!
