In 2011, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University - Commerce. Since then, I've had the honor of working as a band director in public and private schools with an emphasis on teaching percussion, including drumset, drumline, keyboard percussion, and Latin percussion.
My career highlights include performing with the Texas A&M – Commerce jazz ensemble, marching band, and symphony orchestra; performing marimba as a member of the Troopers Drum And Bugle Corp in Drum Corp International; winning first place in the Pasic College Division Marimba Competition; and being named outstanding soloist at the Crescent City Jazz Festival.
Currently, I am a professional drummer playing with local artists in the metroplex as well as expanding my private percussion studio.
Chris is awesome! He is an extremely talented percussionist and musician who helped both my son and daughter with lessons and instruction. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for lessons for either themselves or for their children.
Chris is extremely professional and thorough. He is flexible with his instruction and can change and modify for each individual. He is an extremely masterful instructor and is dedicated to the individual successes of each student he works with.
Incredibly professional, was very patient and helped me work through some intricate techniques.
So talented and patient, would highly recommend for anyone trying to enhance their skill set.
Regardless of age/skill I always put a strong emphasis on fundamentals. Students with a good foundation are more likely to grow and enjoy what they are doing.
Students studying with me will learn;
How to read music
How to tune and maintain equipment
How to practice correctly
I have a degree in music education from TAMU-Commerce as well as 7 years of public education experience.
My first teaching gig was at a private school in Dallas.
I have worked with students from many different socio-economic backgrounds!
