Not company owned or operated, I stand to provide music education at exactly what that means - teaching music. Not just notes or rhythm, but the true meaning behind music. Although I have trained classically for over 16 years and am well versed in reading music and the like, i’ve learned to put far more emphasis on not only reading music, but playing as it was intended. This is a knowledge I intend to pass down to my students.

I love to teach string instruments and have many years of experience. I have a degree in violin performance and have played with the Austin Symphony, Austin Lyric opera, numerous other orchestras and perforing groups. I teach classical technique which can be adapted to any style of playing. In addition to teaching at home, I have taught in the schools, and have founded and led several youth orchestras. I have a friendly and encouraging approach to teaching but am also able to give the structure necessary to help students advance to their full potential. My wife is a musician as well (voice) and has taught for many years, so the two of us love ... View Profile

I believe that music lessons should be both fun and challenging. I am not there to crack a whip, I am there to help facilitate learning and and love for music. While I typically stick to a classical approach I like to leave the door open for students to explore other genres of music. Lesson time is just as much the student’s time as it is mine. I encourage challenge without deterring the student from the instrument.

Brooke June Violin And Theory Lessons

Brooke June Violin And Theory Lessons

I have been a violinist for a little over 20 years and have been involved in classical orchestras for most of my life. Having also played piano and trumpet throughout my youth, music became a constant presence. My experiences ultimately led to my earning a Music Industry Studies degree at California State University, Northridge. Before moving to Austin, I taught violin and theory privately for about 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and rewards each student brought with their learning and growth as musicians. In addition to personalizing my lessons with each student based on their learning needs and desires, I use the Wolfhart and ... View Profile

Tara Kizer Violin Lessons

Originally from St. Louis, MO, I started playing violin at age nine. I was fortunate enough to attend schools within a district that housed vibrant and thriving string program. Those dedicated teachers would later provide the main inspiration for my career. I developed a strong love of fiddle music, and continued to pursue that style along with my vigorous classical study throughout middle and high school. During my pre-college years, I enjoyed membership in both the Missouri All-State Orchestra and the St. Louis Youth Symphony. It was through the various mentoring opportunities I was given during this time that I discovered my immense p ... View Profile
