About
I help build my students' vocal confidence by focusing on developing a basic yet strong and healthy singing technique. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs whether it be learning the basics, preparing for an audition, or just learning for fun. I teach classical and musical theater repertoire. My main objective is to help you succeed in obtaining an authentic voice that is your own.
My favorite thing about teaching is that every lesson is an adventure. There is boundless vocal potential to discover just as long as you are willing to work for it. I also love it when my students not only reach their vocal goals but exceed them. Visit my website at www.jumpsingerprep.com to read my previous students' experiences.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process is to get a feel for my new student's voices. That consists of finding voice range and voice type depending on the age of the student. I also have them sing a few lines of music so I can deduce where the student is at vocally. Are they new to singing? Can they read music? Can they match pitch? All are questions that I ask myself as I valuate my new student's potential for growth.
Moving forward we talk about the voice as an instrument and how to keep the voice healthy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Music Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands in California, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Dixie State University in Saint George, Utah. My experience with auditions and performances will no doubt help students know what to do and what not to do during the audition process.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are 4 times monthly. In months that have 5 weeks, the 5th lesson is set as a free or make-up lesson.
4 50-minute Lessons = $130 per month
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach ages 10 and up.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher who has a degree in vocal performance or vocal pedagogy (the study of teaching singing) or if they don't have a degree at least they should have an active singing career and have a performance resume to back it up. A teacher with some vocal training is better than one without.
