Matt's Tennis Instruction

I’ve been a Floridian my entire life until I made the move up to Virginia this past February with my wife and 3 dogs. I graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s in Sports Medicine and a master’s in Sport Administration. I grew up loving and playing multiple sports and wanted to do something in the health profession so I could ensure that athletes stay healthy and perform their best. I’ve been a certified athletic trainer, high school teacher, and high school tennis coach for the past 20+ years. However, I became a USPTA teaching professional about 10 years ago and have taught kids as young as 5 to adults as old as 65. I coached the Gainesville High School Girls’ Tennis Team to the Regional Semifinals this Spring. Over the summer, I was the co-director and head tennis pro at Highlands Tennis Club where we finished 3rd place in the Tyson’s Cup. I believe tennis is truly a sport of a lifetime that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.
