We’ll have a discussion to determine what you’d like to learn to cook, who you’d like to cook for, and the best environment for learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been teaching cooking classes professionally for over six years. My cooking skills come from a lifetime of experience. My teaching skills came along with a Master’s in Teaching from an awesome university.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We will talk about it to figure out what works for each of us.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in the public/private school classrooms after college and graduate school. I started teaching cooking to my friends as a young adult. I started professionally teaching cooking lessons in January 2012 when I started with The Pampered Chef.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children starting at age 4 through adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love teaching cooking classes to groups of friends—-weather children or adults. It’s so fun to get together in the kitchen and create memories and delicious foods.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
have a talk to see if your personalities match. And ask about specific skills you’d like to learn or specific dishes you’d like to practice together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Consider food allergies and preference. Consider your cooking/kitchen set up.
