Hi! I’m Chef Deena, the Kitchen Physician! And as the title suggests, I thoroughly enjoy healing my clients through non-hybrid, non-GMO, locally sourced, nutrient-rich herbs & food! 

I became vegan (Alkaline-Vegan to be more specific) in January 2016. But since I've been in the culinary industry for over 20 years, I'm so honored & excited to put what I've gathered to the test in such a beneficial way! What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Contact student, ask what their cooking preferences are and we decide who does the shopping and what materials are needed to complete the process. 

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 25 years of culinary experience and 4 years of vegan experience.

How did you get started teaching?

I worked in several public schools in the Los Angeles area through Star Education.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with children, singles, couples, amateurs, novice, & professionals.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

10 children grades 1 through 5, all in one room with me by myself teaching them how to love veggies.  It was an adventure and in the end, it made me realize I was born for this! 

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Come with questions! The only dumb question is the one not asked! 


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are their expectations as far as learning how to cook? Do they want to just learn to cook for themselves, family, and friends or do they want to take it to another level?
