Hello! I have over 10 years ( and counting) of aquatics experience including, competitive swim and dive coaching. I have held a valid American Red Cross Water safety instructor certification since 2014 and have been teaching swimming lessons for all ages since then. Currently I am employed full time with the City of Virginia Beach as a Recreation Supervisor in Aquatics. If you are looking to learn the basics of swimming, get over your fear of the water or train for competitive swim/dive, I would be delighted to help you reach your goal!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I like to do is go over a few goals or thing you and/or your child want to accomplish after our lesson(s). After that it's water time( the best part)! We will start with a few "Show me what you can do!"skills, so I can get an idea of where we should begin.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been around water my whole life! I started with summer swimming lessons at the age of 3 and fell in love with it. I continued swimming lessons until I got of age to join and swim team and from that point on, you couldn't keep me away from the pool. I started my Aquatics career in 2011 as a lifeguard. From there I got my WSI and continued lifeguard and teaching lessons though high school and college. After college I stayed in the Recreation/Aquatics field. Currently I work full time as an Aquactic Supervisor for The city of VB.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, For private lessons (1 student)- $30 per 30 mins.
For simi private (2 or more students)- $25 per person per 30 mins.
(additional travel fee may apply for location over 20 miles or during peek traffic hours)
How did you get started teaching?
I started teach when i was offered the opportunity to become a JR. swim coach for the 6&under group on my swim team. I fell in love with teaching and got a Red Cross water safety instructor certification so I could make my passion into a profession.
