Original Tennis

Tennis is about growing and learning, expanding your skills, enjoying your efforts, and just having fun. I began playing at an early age, moved up the ranks in state competitions, then national. In high school, I was part of 3 straight state championships, while also winning the Virginia State High School doubles championship. I competed with some of the best in the country, including the number 1 ranked player nationally. I went to college on a tennis scholarship, and spent my summers teaching tennis as an assistant tennis professional where I taught individual and group lessons. I also ran the junior programs for ages 5 to 18 at all skill levels. I believe everyone is unique, and their instruction should be tailored for their specific apptitudes and skill sets. I prefer to help build someones game around what each individual does best, maximize strengths, and minimize weaknesses. This is a game that will stretch both physical and mental endurance, so even more important than strokes and technique, is attitude and perspective. Enjoy the game, have fun, and it's ok to be good at it as well!
