My clients sing in a healthy way, based on an extensive anatomical foundation. They all make significant technical progress and are known for their expressive interpretive skills. They improve in terms of personal growth and development and are successful in choirs, on stage, and in other groups, as soloists and in leading roles, as educators and conductors, on tour and in the recording studio, when applying for entrance to university and conservatory training programs, in gaining acceptance to summer programs, in winning competitions, and in obtaining scholarship funding. I love to help people release tension in their voices and make the m...

Hi! My name is Trinity. I am a professional songwriter with a love for teaching the art of collaboration and self-led learning styles. I have been a music teacher for over 6 years and, ironically, am almost entirely self taught. In my time as a teacher I've had a bakers dozen of students with songs on the Grammy ballots, as well as many who have been selected for TV and movie catalogs. I've been mentoring peers and students in performance, songwriting, co-writing (with an emphasis on group collaboration and relationship management: an important and overlooked skill in any industry), music business, artist development, music theory, as well a

Your Singing Lessons questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

Singing lessons cost $50 to $100 per hour on average. Prices vary depending on the teacher's location, experience, reputation, and whether you're taking a private or group lesson. Group lessons typically cost less per person than private lessons, but you may not get as much personal attention and feedback in a group setting.

  • Some singing teachers charge a flat rate for a specified increment of time, typically in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute increments.
  • Many coaches offer package deals to purchase 2 to 10+ lessons at a time and reduce the cost per lesson.

Singing lessons won't change your sound completely, but they can help improve your sound by strengthening your vocal cords and improving your range and tone.

Singing lessons involve more than just your voice. A vocal coach will teach you how to hold and improve your posture, which gives your diaphragm optimal room to expand. You also learn proper breathing techniques and how to use your breath to improve your tone. Singing lessons also help you improve your diction—the way you articulate your words when singing—as well as your ability to match specific pitches.

Yes, adults can absolutely take singing lessons. While starting singing lessons at a young age gives you more time to develop your voice, it's never too late to begin learning and improve your singing voice.

Follow these guidelines to help you choose the best singing lessons near you:

  • Check out their reviews on Lessons.com and Google.
  • Get at least three estimates from teachers with similar credentials.
  • Ask for recommendations from others in the local music community.
  • Do a trial meeting or lesson if possible with several teachers to find the best fit for your goals.
  • Ask them about their training and credentials.
  • Ask about what specific methods and techniques they teach.
  • Ask about the specific progress they've made with other students.
  • Make sure their schedule matches your availability.

Ask these questions to help you choose the best singing teacher for you:

  • How long have you been teaching singing?
  • Can you share any success stories?
  • Do I need to have a good voice already to become a better singer?
  • How long does it typically take to see improvement?
  • Do you offer any package deals?
  • What is your teaching schedule?
  • How long are your singing lessons?
  • How often should I practice?
  • Do you offer private or group lessons?
  • Where do you teach?
  • Do you offer online lessons using video calling?

Reviews for Seattle singing classes

Recent success stories from people in the Seattle area.

First and foremost shes brilliant. Shes energetic, observant, receptive, flexible, attentive, animated, modestly eclectic, very approachable, very knowledge and I personally recommend her 12 times out of 10. She has taught me techniques, and new ways to expand my vocal range, how to "tell the story" of songs, how to make a song my own and articulation is key. I can go on and on of what shes taught me but I'm a better vocalist and performer than I ever have been in my life and I cant thank her enough for it. If you're reading this just give her a call you'll love her trust me😊

Well, of course, it helped that we are both sopranos! That said, she was good at paying attention to both my potential and my limits as a singer. She did an excellent job of teaching me to breathe properly which is far more necessary for a singer than I had ever imagined. So is posture. The more voice lessons I had with her, the more relaxed and confident I grew. And I had a lot of fun just being near her and listening to her sing something before I attempted to sing the same thing she had just sung. In her presence there was a beautiful balance between the hard work of singing and the joy and fun that singing brings to our souls and bodies.

Wendy is the best. If you want a personal experience then Wendy is for you! She has the masterful teaching skills of concepts that will help you become the best musician possible. Wendy approaches all students based on where they are, and helps them reach their goals! I am proud to be able to call her my Friend, Mentor, and Colleague!

MadamL is such a encouraging wonderful person! This is my first time taking singing lessons and singing solo in front of someone and she is so kind and encouraging. I have learned so much and I recommend her to anyone who is afraid to sing in front of another person. She has also found some weak areas that I was completely blind to in my voice. We are working on those areas together and it’s wild to actually see improvement in your own voice! Highly recommended for any new singers!
