About
I have been teaching for over 13 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy. My teaching focuses on the individual. Each student learns differently and has unique goals. I work really hard to be creative to meet the student where they are at and personalize each lesson to that individual. I have fun resources like a finger piano, piano mat and white board for my young wiggly students. I focus a lot on theory, technique, and classical pieces for my serious students. I am passionate about the piano and teaching and I would love to hear about your goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to see where they are right now. If they have had piano lessons before, I like them to bring their music and play their reproitore for me. Then I start where they are at, fill in the holes if they have them, and go from there! I love working with new students of all ages. It is so exciting!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University. My instrument at ASU was piano. I have played the piano since I was 5, and I feel like it is a big part of who I am.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 for a 30min lesson
$45 for a 45min lesson
$60 for a 60min lesson
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching just comes naturally to me. I have always loved playing. In High School during lunch I used to sneak away and find a piano to play. I have accompanied soloists for different events and choirs of all shapes and sizes. Playing the piano brings people together, brings conversation, and others around you form a desire to want to learn. I love teaching, I love seeing my students learn and grow.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students. My youngest student was 5 years old, my oldest 85. I have also taught individuals with special needs, and welcome them! I have taught adults, home school kids, everyone! By having a background in music therapy, I really tailor my teaching style to work best for each individual student and their strengths and weakness.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a student play in a composition festival. It was a really big deal. She composed this beautiful, complex piece. I helped her along with it and helped her write a professional, printed manuscript. She turned it in to be judged, and came out with top marks in every category, along with it being one of the judge's most favorite pieces! She then got to perform her composition in front of an audience and recieved a trophy. I am so proud of her!
I also had a student win the Janeen Noble Outstounding Music Student Award with a prize of $200.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who teaches because they love it. Look for someone who is highly qualified in years teaching and education.
