Carolyn Curtis

Independent teacher of piano and voice for over 40 years. As a working professional musician I have a wide variety of experience and lots to pass on to students. My piano is an 8' Falcone grand, a lovely instrument to play. I am willing to work with students on whatever repertoire they bring in, though the masters are my favorite. Friendly atmosphere: I love to laugh. Will answer any questions!

I have a B.A. in Music from Smith College and a M.A. in education/music from Clark University in Worcester MA. I have been a working professional pianist and organist since 1965 and have had an amazing variety and depth of experience; in accompanying, church work, semi-professional to professional theater, opera, chamber music, but I also enjoy jazz and some pop idioms. I studied voice with a teacher in Boston for 8 years and have worked as voice teacher and vocal coach steadily.

I enjoy most the interaction with a variety of students of all levels and ages and am challenged to find a way to make music accessible to every one. It is a real pleasure to see the progress students make over time, to see them getting better and better and more and more enthusiastic as they go. I love being able to pass on my knowledge and experience to more and more people.
