About

Chris Granger was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, and has been playing the piano and performing for over 15 years. In high school, he belonged to Junior Philomel Club, a society for young performers, and also accompanied his school choir and orchestra. While in college, he studied studied piano, accompanied several choirs, soloists, and was one of the founding members of La Trio Dolce, a trio consisting of a clarinet, viola, and piano. Since moving to Arizona in 2010, Mr. Granger has maintained an active schedule as a piano instructor and professional accompanist throughout the Phoenix Metro area. He has performed with Chandler Symphony musicians, Musica Nova, and the Arizona Flute Society, where he and flautist Derek Cochran took first place in their annual competition. Mr. Granger is also the pianist in residence for La Forza Chamber Orchestra. Apart from playing, Mr. Granger is also a full time music teacher in Downtown Phoenix where he teaches choir and general music. He also works with the Phoenix Children's Chorus as a music literacy instructor, assistant choir director, and assistant accompanist.

Mr. Granger has a great passion for the art of music and works to instill that passion in his students. He focuses on the foundations of piano technique, but also on artistry and developing the musician. He likes to give his students an eclectic experience in repertoire and performance opportunities while offering individualized and tailored instruction for each student. His hope is to not necessarily train professional performers, but to develop a love of music and help his students become life-long musicians, in whichever capacity that suits them.
