About
I enjoy teaching piano and seeing my student's progress. My primary purpose in teaching is to serve those who desire to build on their musical talents or to tap into that undiscovered gift of music. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and provide you with the necessary skills to make music at the piano a rewarding experience for yourself and for others. As a teacher, I strive to work with each student's musical interests while also introducing other repertoire to enhance a full range of music appreciation. I believe introducing music early on in a child's life contributes to the fundamentals of learning. When the gift of music is then shared, it becomes a stepping stone to making a difference, not only for oneself, but for others around you. I also welcome adults who once took lessons as a child or any adult with a desire to learn the piano.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a complimentary lessons to basically go over the books we will be using and to get a sense of what the student is hoping to accomplish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received weekly private piano lessons as a young child through my teen years and eventually was taught to play a console organ and became the organist for our local church at the age of 14. My ability to sightread earned me a place in being the choir accompanist in church and in high school and later in college. I attended Grand Canyon University to study piano and pursue music education in my adult years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My current rate is $35.00 per half hour, $50.00 for 45 minutes and $60.00 for hour. Lessons are typically once a week.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after I was married and had raised my children. I always wanted to be a teacher but life took me in a different direction until my later years when I decided to return to college as an older student.
