I have 30 years experience teaching piano to all ages (about 6 to adult), and I enjoy teaching beginners as much as I do the most advanced players. I'm known for my patience, and I genuinely love what I do. I encourage students to ask questions and think about music and try things and not be afraid to make mistakes(!). All students learn the fundamental skills that will serve them in whatever style of music they play, and as they progress, some focus more on classical music, some popular, or jazz, or any combination. I'm classically trained, with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, but I'm well versed in and enjoy playing many styles of music. Very few students go on to make music their profession, but it's my job to help everyone realize the joy that making music can bring over a person's lifetime!
