About
More affordable than certified professionals as I am not one!
Focused on Feel - not a bunch of confusing mechanics
Playing lessons available for same price. Take your lesson to the course for course management, club selection, strategy, reading putts, and more.
Coach Carter actively seeks out opportunities to promote great behaviors in the golf game as well as help encourage better technique, mental game tactics, side-by-side playing lessons, in Range Time dedicated to improving your ball striking.
Coach Carter has the teaching style necessary to help beginner golfers of all ages make immediate improvements to their all around performance on the course.
Carter has also worked underneath Dennis Ralston, former professional ATP Tennis player, and respected instructor. The years instructing at Lowe's Ventana Canyon and La Mariposa Tennis Club built a foundation for teaching young students from ages 3 and up. Carter has what it takes to teach kids the games of tennis and golf, as there are many similarities in mechanics, coordination and mental strategy.
Teaching people to be successful is Carter's greatest passion. 20 years in the hospitality industry working at Country Clubs, fine dining restaurants, and 8 years under Arizona restuarant expert Sam Fox, Carter has gained a deep understanding of how people learn. Training and Development for restaurants is my day job, helping people learn to golf or play tennis is my passion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Golf Students will be met at the driving range or on the course based on their preference.
If a range lesson is preferred, Carter will work with the student on grip, address, swing thoughts, feel vs real tactics to achieve the proper swing plane, and ball stiking drills.
If a playing lesson is preferred, 9 or 18 holes will be paid for by the student for both themselves and Carter. The lesson fee will apply as well, however the lesson is much longer and gets into the true understanding of the game.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
**I do not have any formal education in golf instruction.**
I taught tennis for many years, and train restaurant employees, managers, and chefs for a living. Golf is a HUGE passion for me my skills in training translate very well to helping beginners and intermediate golfers with their game.
If you are a 15 Handicap or higher, I can really help you learn the game for less money than certified professionals.
How did you get started teaching?
Playing a lot of golf and taking lessons myslef have really helped me understand the swing and the stategy to become a low handicapper myslef. I have ALWAYS had a passion for teaching and training.
