Soyeon (Sally) Kang Piano Lessons

I am a doctoral student in music education at Arizona State University. I have been performing professionally for 15 years as a pianist and an accompanist in South Korea and in the USA. I worked at public schools as a music teacher for 11 years and I have been giving piano lessons to children of different ages and adults since I moved to Arizona in 2013. I am not only interested in helping students improve their musical skills but also into how to facilitate students' agency in their musical learning.

I used to teach piano labs at Arizona State University and public schools. However, meeting individual students one-on-one and seeing their unique learning curves and musical interests always amaze me. I also enjoy learning different students' musical drives by teaching. The best moment that I encountered when I was teaching piano was when one of my students exclaimed: "I improved!"
