About

A dedicated violinist and passionate music educator, Yueching Ting currently holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Arizona State University, where she studied with Danwen Jiang. Prior to her collegiate studies, she graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 2020 as a student of Ara Sarkissian. Yueching has completed and registered training for Suzuki Violin Books 1-4 under the mentorship of Jenna Potts.

“As a teacher and mentor, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can strive musically and personally. To accomplish that, I put a lot of emphasis on the importance of building a solid technical foundation (including posture, bow hold, left hand) from the very first lesson to promote healthy playing habits and prevent long-term injury, so that students can build upon their techniques to learn new concepts and pieces more easily. My teaching approach encourages my students to actively listen, reflect, and make informed decisions about their playing, which enables them to learn how to problem-solve effectively and gain the confidence to take ownership of their musical journey. Whether you’re a beginner learning how to hold the bow or an advanced student preparing for an audition, I am committed to tailoring and customizing lessons to your individual goals with the hope of fostering a lifelong love for music.”

With over a decade of experience performing and teaching, Yueching has participated in numerous musical activities, such as orchestral performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the New World Center. She has spent summers at the Montecito International Music Festival, the Aria International Summer Academy, and the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain, and has been privileged to perform in masterclasses led by distinguished artists including Mark Holloway, Renée Jolles, Paul Kantor, and Oleh Krysa. She has also been a member of numerous orchestras, including the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra and the Arizona State University (ASU) Symphony Orchestra, where she got the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal performing Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 under the direction of Alejandro Gómez Guillén. Yueching currently teaches at San Marcos Music Academy and maintains a private teaching studio based in Tempe, Arizona, offering both in-person and virtual violin and viola lessons to students of all ages and levels.
