I am passionate about music, so the student will feel that excitement when we work together. I make the lesson fun because I love what I do, and I want to import my joy and love for music to each student I teach. I have the ability to inspire and motivate, I am a very positive teacher, and I am committed to the student of each student.
I have the ability to make a student feel comfortable. I believe in positive reinforcement and will always find something to praise or a way to encourage and motivate a student to excel. My work is always different because no two students are alike. Each student is at a level unique to their ability. The music I choose varies according to each student's ability and interest. Some students are just beginning their music education, and get excited by each new idea they learn. Others have been playing piano for a longer time and may be interested in classical, pop, jazz or contemporary repertoire. I love the diversity, which keeps teaching exciting and fresh for me. There is nothing like seeing a student "get" the idea or play something they have been working on with joy! .

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I tailor my lessons for the student I am teaching according to their individual goals. Typically, most students are interested in learning to read music. In those instances, I like to work with several books that teach technique, theory and performance pieces.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have three music degrees in piano performance, music composition and music eduication. I also have a teaching credential in music and teach students in grades K-12.
I have over 20 years of experience in music as a professional. I am a music director, composer, arranger, pianist, accompanist, and educator.
