My students thrive because of my expertise, as well as my contagious, positive high energy, and encouragement. I enjoy creating a learning atmosphere that allows them to feel safe to explore their talents, take risks, and to have fun. I have over 14 years of experience teaching voice, acting, and beginner to intermediate piano to children, teens, and adults, from elementary to high school age, in after school programs, summer programs, the collegiate level, and private lessons
Vocal students can expect an emphasis on the physical mechanics of singing, how to sing in a vocally healthy way, taking care of the voice, expanding their range, and repertoire, as well as developing as a musician and connecting to the material as an actor. Piano students will learn how to play from chord symbols and lead sheets, as well as how to read standard music, while also developing their musical ear and creativity. It is a thrill to witness students grow and develop as artists and performers, as well as the fun they have as they discover more of who they are, and what they have to offer!
I bring a lot to the table from of my years of experience as a professional actor in musical theatre, having started working professionally at age 16, a member of Actor’s Equity since 2007, with over 100 productions under my belt, including the national tour of Cats, the original casts of Disney’s Villains Tonight!, and The Dream Goes On for Disney Cruise Lines, as well as years of work with some of the best regional theaters in the country. I also studied Musical Theatre at Shenandoah University, VA, as well as NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
I'm excited to use the skills and knowledge I have amassed through my training and years of experience to help your students become the artists of the future, ensuring the expansion, livelihood, and longevity of the Arts and Culture in our communities.
