Many years of experience with individuals ages 7 through adults. Highly successful setting up correct playing position as well as correcting position errors that cause problems. My students are relaxed and happy. The more serious students compete well in auditions and placements. Many students stay with me for their entire student career into college.

I love teaching and my students motivate me. I have studied with some major cello teachers who were professors at the University of Southern California and I am currently getting some coaching just to keep by skills current. I am currently Principal cellist with Pasadena’s Crown City Symphony and I manage Arroyo String Quartet, a highly successful ensemble playing in the greater Los Angeles area.

    Lisa brings so much experience, talent, and is more than qualified to instruct learners of all levels. I started playing viola at 25 with zero knowledge about instruments or music, and she has been incredibly patient with my journey so far. I was initially worried that I would have to learn everything all at once, but she teaches me new skills and how to read different notes as I need them; I’m learning at just the right pace and don’t feel overwhelmed!
    Lisa has made my lessons such an enjoyable experience, and, in only 3 months, I have improved and learned so much. She is flexible, and since we keep a consistent schedule for the most part, it has really become a weekly routine for me. I highly recommend her for prospective students.

    I am very pleased with Lisa Fowlers instruction. I finder knowledgeable, experienced and very patient. I firs tried some learn through YouTube videos but quickly realized in our first lesson hat there is nothing like one on one training that gave me a much better start. She is teaching me things that I have never seen in the many videos watched and find tremendous value for the cost of my lessons.
