Epicurean Exchange specializes in planning and presenting all formats of culinary-themed programs: from scheduled cooking classes, to private small group culinary demonstrations or hands-on events, to corporate team building activities, or a special family gathering or a group of friends wanting to get together for an evening out, the kitchen is the perfect backdrop for gatherings large and small.
For those who know us, encouraging better eating and positive lifestyle support has always been a significant focus of our work. If you, or your family, are looking to improve your overall eating habits, we offer our custom Kitchen Fitness lifestyle program or House Calls, private chef services, to provide foundational and overall nutritional support. In addition, if you, or someone you know, is facing a medical challenge that requires substantial lifestyle change, we offer wellness and lifestyle assessments and prescriptive (doctor recommended) cooking services to help meet your goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Cooking classes are offered as public (with other students) scheduled, single-subject or private instruction can be arranged.
No experience is necessary; basic skills and instruction offered to new students. Chef Charlie facilitates all classes and works closely with students throughout the classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Chef Charles Vollmar, owner of Epicurean Exchange, is a popular chef, cooking instructor, foods and wellness consultant, writer, lifestyle coach and international travel guide. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, his classes and work emphasize essential skill and technique work, wellness, prevention and lifestyle enrichment topics relating to cooking, nutrition, fitness and foods appreciation and exploration. He teaches privately, in his home school and has taught at leading cooking schools including the French Culinary Institute and the California Culinary Academy. He also leads international culinary tours throughout the world.
