Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All new student will be interviewed before lessons. And if a student has been playing the piano for awhile, he/she will be asked to perform two contrasting pieces and scales, and will be evaluated on sight-reading, technique and ear-training. Then, I would recommend a curriculum of studies (Technique, Theory, Sight-reading and Performance) that is suitable for each student's age and level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have D.M.A. in Historical Performance Practice, B.M and M.M. in Piano Performance as well as B.S in Education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Monthly tuition is based on one lesson per week. Please, call/email for a consultation.
How did you get started teaching?
After completing a series of pedagogy classes with Dr. Martha Baker and Dennis Alexander, I started teaching at my own private studio in Orange County.
