About

Jenni is a California native educated in London, England. She holds a Bachelors in from the Royal Academy of Music, and a Masters in Music Leadership from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Using a combination of the Suzuki method, Kodály and eurythmics (Dalcroze), she trains her students to be well-rounded musicians. She also plays piano, erhu, and sings jazz. Her albums "London" and “Freedom” (which won an Independent Music Award) are available on iTunes and Amazon Music.

As a teacher for the Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles (SMPLA), Jenni includes her private students in their biannual solo recitals and ensemble concerts, and strongly recommends their participation in their repertoire workshops every other week during the school year. This ensures a strong community to support every student's growth, and a network of friends to play with.

Jenni is a very patient and caring teacher who has worked with my daughter for the past 2 years. In that time, she has helped her stretch and grow and try new things. So very happy we found Jenni!

I have been seeing Jenni weekly for about 3 and a half years. My 12 yr old grandson Sammy is her violin student.
Sammy is now on the third song of Suzuki’s book 4. It is a huge joy to listen to Sammy play. His music has taken me near to tears and I have seen his mom cry and other people in the audience. The difference is not only in his playing but how he carries himself in school.
Jenni has been instrumental is expanding Sammy’s repertoire. She has introduced to him music from all over the world. Celtic is so far his favorite.
Jenni has also introduced Sammy to other venues such as the Suzuki group class, the annual Suzuki violin institute. It’s a week at a local college where he goes to 4 or 5 classes every day and at night we listen to students playing solos, ensembles and professional violinist. Jenni also got Sammy and invitation to play with a high school orchestra.
Sammy’s knowledge of music theory is very impressive. I am amazed every time he has music theory with Jenni and I listen to them.
Sammy understands now how big of a correlection there is between practice and improvement. This will serve Sammy very well on love from.
Thanks to Jenni I believe Sammy will go very far with his violin.

Jenni is an exceptionally talented and caring teacher. She is warm and generous in sharing herself with her students. She really loves her students, and is genuinely invested in them and their music education. Her approach is nurturing, non-judgemental, and patient. She believes, like Dr. Suzuki, that talent, rather than inborn, is developed through persistent practice. She challenges our kids to improve without overwhelming them, and always keeps it fun and interesting. Our kids take their violin playing seriously, but, under Jenni, they see it not as a chore, but a way to improve themselves. As they see their rhythm, pitch, and ability improve, I love that they are learning the lesson, at such a young age, that ability comes from consistent effort. Jenni will meet your children where they are, and give them every opportunity to develop their musical talent. Shes a sweet, gentle soul and we feel so lucky we found her!

Ms. Jenni is a great teacher who has the right credentials, experience, and teaching techniques to be able to inspire you, encourage you, and make you love playing the violin as much as she does! She is enthusiastic about music, the violin, and teaching! My kids love her dearly!
