About

Hi I'm Scott and I teach piano in Newbury Park. I specialize in jazz and classical music and teach students of all levels. My teaching approach is first to gain an understanding of what students' goals are and what they want to achieve. Then, I help them to make practice goals that are based on the skills and areas they will need to develop to get there.

A very important part of the musical journey is to have fun and I am a big believer in playing material that you are passionate about and learning as much as you can from it. It is also important to not always just practice the same things the same way but to continually find ways to challenge yourself to gain a wide range of skills and a deeper understanding of the instrument.
