I am a classically trained pianist with 50 years of teaching and performing experience. I specialize in teaching effective sight-reading, technique, musicianship, ensemble work, performance skills, and listening skills to students from 5 years to adult. Learning can be challenging, but should also be fun, and this is a goal for all of my students. I have had many award-winning students throughout the years, and I have helped them to achieve their goals in music.
I love working with young children, watching them develop and grow, taking pride in their achievements as they learn, and seeing them progress at each lesson, as we inspire each other. With older students as well, it is exciting to witness those moments that take them up to a new level of understanding and enjoyment of the music they are playing.
Noelle Tinturin is thorough when teaching theory and ensuring students get the appropriate guidance necessary to learn piano. I would definitely recommend her to others.
It was our good fortune to find Noelle Chompinsky Tinturin as a piano teacher for my two daughters for over 7 years. Noelle has a comprehensive knowledge of music, is very supportive, and has lovely performance skills herself that inspire her students. After training with Noelle, my daughter, Natalie, at 14 years old, was able to perform her own solo full concert with confidence. I believe that if lessons do not provide a strong foundation that includes theory, technique, interpretation, and performance skills necessary to truly excel in music, you will lose precious time and money. I highly recommend Noelle as a piano teacher to provide the invaluable gift of a music that will last a lifetime!
Ms. Nöelle herself! She is an amazing pianist that has the skill to bring out a student's best performance. My son's abilities dramatically improved with her guidance.
I took lessons with Noëlle for about 10 years throughout my childhood and teenage years. Her teaching skills are excellent for any age or level on the piano. In addition, she has been exceptionally generous in scholarship opportunities and goes the extra mile to connect her students to community opportunities and other brilliant musicians besides herself. I've had many opportunities to serve in the community with my music because she advocates her students actively. Since then, I've studied physics through getting a PhD. Throughout that time, I've carried the lessons Noëlle taught me that extended beyond music. Working on difficult problems is, in a very general sense, not so different than learning a very difficult piece. Noëlle taught me how to first handle these extremely difficult problems by facing them and solving them in a methodological and precise way. In my studies, I felt confident that I could handle difficult and complicated problems because I had tackled difficult tasks before. I also learned how to construct timely schedules to learn several pieces at once, which is the essence of time management. Noëlle also taught me how to command a stage when I perform. As a scientist, I present results in front of an audience on a very regular basis. I've applied the same skills from piano which has made me a much better speaker. I often have people approach me after my talks and they ask "Did you take acting lessons? You are definitely a performer!" Each time I respond "No, I took piano lessons from an incredible teacher who taught me how to command a stage and respond to an audience." Taking piano lessons with Noëlle has given me skills that are not only critical for performing piano, but for having an extremely successful career. I cannot thank her enough for her diligence in teaching me all of these skills, and I cannot stress how incredible she is. I give her my absolute highest recommendation!
