I do a vocal assessment the very first lesson to determine the student's voice type and determine any challenges he or she is having currently. From there I guide the student through a series of customized vocal exercises. Some students notice an immediate difference and for others it will take time and consistent practice to start to notice more vocal balance and increased range. The more the student is willing to put in the time to practice consistently, the faster he or she will progress. I will also teach the student how to apply the customized exercises to a song. 

Laurel Sherwood is a vocal coach and performer in Ventura, CA with a long history of singing in various bands ranging from cover bands to original rock as well as writing and recording her own music.  She is a classically trained actress with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from California State University, Northridge and has starred in several musicals and plays in Los Angeles as well as Hawaii where she lived most recently before returning to the mainland. She has also worked as a professional actress in film and TV and was a voice over casting director for several years.

In 2017 she was featured as a guest singer for The Ventura Jazz Orchestra. Currently she is the lead singer for The Jukebox Rockers, a top cover band in Ventura County and Los Angeles County.
