Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Teach what is on thier mind the most, keep it friendly, fun, and inspiring.
Relate to thier goals and stick to them patiently.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
over 30 years of studio ownership, social teaching, competitive traiing, and real life experiences on social dance floors.
We relate to most people because we dance with most people at most places.... real time lessons.
My IG account has a great video review of a lot of night clubs and ballroom dance parties in OC!

How did you get started teaching?
At Arthur Murry Dance School, I was recruited to compete and perform and I stayed with teaching after my competitive career ended.
What types of students have you worked with?
Majority of my students are 45-65 avg age. middle class or career minded individuals.
However I have taught all kinds:
From Prison Inmates, to Autism High Schools, High Risk or Gang Teens, The Eldlerly, the Handicapped, Youth Competitive, Active Adult Socials, showcase, and Elementary and Middle Schools.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our favorite regular events: New Years Eve Ballroom Parties, as well as the Bravo Bar for Salsa and Bachata, as well as the Nixon Library Ballroom Gala: dress sharp, and dance elegantly with a lot of well trained ballroom dancers.
. . . and the OC Fair anual dances: My students love the latin dances offerred by live bands there annually.
There are a lot of Salsa Night Clubs, Ballroom Parites, and Social Night Clubs starting Weds through Sunday.
Join us on any of these "Night Outs" with our students and friends.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't hire a teacher that immediately presents competition and the high prices that go with that.... stay with a teacher that recognizes your social needs and focus only on private lessons without distractions of other lessons and teachers also training on same floor at same time.... opposite of private coaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How long will you need to take dance lessons?
Everyone has a dance goal but how long does it take to get there?
I can offer that after 20 minutes of working with you.
