I was looking for a piano teacher that was knowledgeable with Jazz and had classical piano technique. I'm an older pianist with "Holes" in my piano education. Upon research, I saw that Peter published books for Hal Leonard and also taught at the prestigious Musician's Institute in Los Angeles. Peter's vast experience and knowledge in both Classical and Jazz worlds was exactly what I was looking for. His technique is impeccable and he can address whatever issues you have; harmonically, stylistically and what have you. He earns high recommendations from me!
Peter is an excellent communicator and demonstrator of musical concepts and practical application of all genres of piano music...classical, jazz, blues, rock and pop . He is very patient and encouraging as an instructor and I have benefited greatly as his pupil.
Peter is so well rounded. He is highly skilled in popular, classical, and jazz styles. And he is a Great Teacher!
Peter is patient, and pushes you to do more than you thought possible. He is very creative, fun to work with, and tailors learning to the students needs. One of the best music teachers I have had!
I like to assess thier level, technic, understanding of music, and musical interests at the first lesson. Also, it is important to understand what thier music goals are and set up a plan that is tailored to help them meet those goals.

I started teaching private lessons in 1992 in Long Beach. I have always found teaching to be rewarding.
I have taught every age from 5 to 80. I tend to prefer teaching adults of any level or very gifted young people.
